‘The Good Dinosaur’ Director Talks His ‘Witch of the Week’ Work and ‘Gone Girl’ Director Telling Him to “Get in the Room”
After a year of working on the sci-fi thriller ‘The Great Wall,’ director Andrew Stanton is excited to tell the story of how the studio acquired his original script, ‘The Witch of the Night.’
As it turns out, that movie was a hit, and Stanton says he has “absolutely no idea why.”
The filmmaker told EW at the end of March that he wanted to tell his own story, and now he has, with his adaptation of his beloved “The Great White Way” novel, titled “Witch Of The Night.”
The story centers on a young girl named Lily who, in the middle of a brutal battle between a group of goblins, is forced to flee her home with only her dog and a small pocket watchbook.
After an encounter with a group on a nearby cliff, she finds herself in a cave filled with a horde of the creatures.
Lily is left to fend for herself and her dog as the others try to break into her house, and the film follows her quest as she explores the world of The Witch of The Night.
The story is told entirely through the eyes of the young protagonist, played by the Oscar winner Julianne Moore.
Stanton explained that it was a big deal to acquire Moore as a voice actor, as he was the first person to be hired to portray the young girl in the film.
“It was one of those things where I was like, ‘Oh, my god, I can’t believe I’m getting paid this much for this,'” Stanton said.
“And I was just like, Oh, I’m in.
It’s like, You guys know me, right?
I’m just in.
I love the work.
I’m so stoked.
I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s like the coolest thing.”
Moore’s character is voiced by Emma Watson, who is the first woman to play a lead in a Hollywood film.
In fact, she’s the first actor to be cast as the lead in the same movie twice.
“We had conversations about it, and she’s such an amazing actress, so much so that it wasn’t just her that was the voice, but also she was a really good match for Julianne, who’s such a beautiful actress and the character was very much inspired by her,” Stanton explained.
“She was a voice that I thought would be perfect for Juliane.
She’s an amazing person, so I wanted to get her right, and I just thought it would be a really cool idea.”
While the film is set in a future in which technology has advanced, the film’s title, “The Witch Of The Nights,” is based on the legend of the mythical witch who could cast spells with the power of a crystal ball.
It also features a very literal interpretation of the story, as the film uses the story as a reference for a new title.
“The Good,” as the story is called in the novel, is the title of the novel.
“The Good” is a very dark, very serious tale about a young witch named Lily (Moore), who has a knack for breaking into people’s homes to steal things, and her knack is later revealed to be her own magic.
The film, which was written by Moore and starring Idris Elba and Tom Hardy, is set during the era of the Industrial Revolution and features a handful of female characters, and there’s a lot of discussion about how feminism and racial and class inequality impact the story.
In a rare interview with EW, Moore said that while the film was a huge hit, she was not thrilled with the money it was getting.
“I’m really happy that it’s got a lot more eyeballs than a lot less,” she said.
She added that she was “very grateful for the money, I just can’t say that enough.
It was really a gift, it was just a gift.”
When the movie was released, the studio was ecstatic, but after a year, Stanton told EW that he didn’t have much faith in the movie’s box office returns.
“I really, really wanted to do the movie and be a part of it, because I really felt like we were doing something special,” Stanton said, noting that the film has been receiving praise from critics.
“It’s a story that I have so much respect for and love, and it just seemed like I needed to do something big with it and be the catalyst that helped make it happen.”
But after seeing the movie with Moore, it’s clear that the movie is doing well enough to keep the director on board, as well as the studio, in a big way.
“This was a project that I had to do, because the studio wasn’t willing to give me the money I wanted,” he said.
